Every game moves through the same real sequence, this is the actual order of play, not decoration.
Each player drops 12 cows onto empty points, racing to line up three in a row, a mill, to capture an opponent's piece.
Once all cows are placed, slide them along the lines to open and re-close mills, grinding down the opponent's herd one capture at a time.
Drop to your last three cows and they can leap anywhere on the board, a dangerous, decisive endgame for whoever's left.
